HONOLULU (Hawaii News Now) – This week, business leaders from Hawaii and Nevada have convened at the Sheraton Waikiki Beach Resort for the Hawaii Business Exchange Summit, running from Monday through Wednesday. This event marks the third occasion the Vegas Chamber has sent a delegation to Honolulu.
Organizers emphasize the summit’s goal of exchanging best practices and enhancing collaboration between the two states, particularly in tourism, hospitality, and economic development. According to Mary Beth Sewald, President and CEO of the Vegas Chamber, the summit is designed to allow leaders from both areas to gain insights from one another, work together on common challenges, support economic development, and foster stronger relationships between the states. Discussion topics will include workforce shortages, economic resilience, the impacts of disasters on tourism, the future of Waikiki, sports tourism, homelessness, infrastructure, and the significant role of chambers of commerce in economic development.
