GOP gubernatorial ticket targets government waste, vaccine mandates

In a recent episode of HNN’s Fans of Democracy podcast, Republican gubernatorial candidate Gary Cordery and his running mate Daniel Anthony addressed significant issues facing Hawaii, including the mismanagement of government funds and vaccine mandates. Cordery, a contractor, asserted that there is substantial waste in the state’s budget that could allow for the elimination of excise taxes on food and drugs.

Both candidates condemned the current affordable housing financing system, claiming that development on state land could facilitate the construction of thousands of homes at reasonable prices. They also discussed the necessity for local military families to live on base, rather than inflating the rental market with off-base allowances. Cordery and Anthony stressed their opposition to mandatory vaccines, advocating for informed consent instead, while highlighting their focus on health and nutrition.
