HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Known for its diverse cultural heritage, Hawaii reflects this vibrancy within the University of Hawaiʻi women’s volleyball team. Maeli Cormier from Quebec, Canada, along with French players Manon Baudrillard and Mano Antiga, have forged a distinctive bond rooted in their shared background.
“Being so far from home and having the opportunity to speak French has been really meaningful for us,” Cormier expressed. She noted how their connection has enriched her experience compared to her previous school. Despite some language differences, the trio has enjoyed navigating their unique dialects, creating a supportive dynamic throughout the season.
They have also appreciated the welcoming atmosphere from their teammates. As Antiga highlighted, the presence of other French-speaking individuals on campus creates a vibrant community, enhancing their overall experience at the university.
