HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The holiday season is approaching as preparations for the 42nd annual Honolulu City Lights kick off at Honolulu Hale. Crews began installing decorations on Monday at the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds for this year’s festive celebration, themed “Christmas in the Country.”
This year’s highlights include a newly added lighted tunnel, glowing trees, and a train that will offer rides for children. These features will complement beloved attractions such as Shaka Santa, Tūtū Mele, the ABC Blocks, and the Gnomes. The month-long celebration is set to begin on December 5, featuring a block party at 4 p.m. on Punchbowl Street and across the Civic Center Grounds, followed by the Public Workers’ Electric Light Parade at 6 p.m. starting from ʻAʻala Park, during which Mayor Rick Blangiardi will illuminate the holiday tree and displays.
